Lisa Olson

May 22, 1969 — March 18, 2013

Lisa Jane Olson was born on May 22nd, 1969 in Glencoe MN to her parents, Cherry Ann (Feeken) Olson and Wayne Alvin Olson. Growing up, she loved to follow her two older sisters, Tammy and Paula. Lisa enjoyed playing with her dolls and also playing dress up. Lisa thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her Grandmothers Feeken and Olson and Great Grandmother Krueger. Lisa wasn't a child who asked for many material things and she didn't like sitting and watching television unless she was surrounded by family. One of the most beloved things about Lisa when she was growing up was her beautiful long blonde hair. It had a certain beauty about it that only enhanced Lisa as a young girl growing up in the 1970's. When Lisa was about 9 years old, she received a most wonderful companion, Mitzi. Lisa and Mitzi were bosom buddies…one would not be far from the other. Lisa received her early education by attending elementary school in Mt. Lake Minnesota. She moved to Colorado in the summer of 1986. She went to Overland Senior High School in Aurora CO. In the summer of 1988 she met Charlie Burnett Jr and shortly thereafter started a family. From this union, Lisa bore Ashley, Adam, Nicholas, Diedre, Nicole and Benjamin. To Lisa, nothing was more important to her than her family. She treasured special little moments and also the celebrations around her when her family- both immediate and external was presented. Later her grandson Gabriel provided an additional source of joy and pride in her life. By profession, Lisa was employed by the United States Postal Service. Her co-workers and employers remember her hard work and dedication. She loved her job and performed her task well. She was the type of person who went beyond the call of duty to get the job done. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Lisa was confirmed on May 18, 1984, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake, Minnesota. Lisa was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. Her closest friends, Oozie, Jim, and Jane will miss the camaraderie they shared together and her kind and helpful nature. She was a woman full of laughter and a joy to be around. She loved visiting with the elderly and listening to their tales of long ago. She made things precious by her touch and her love lives on in every person that crossed her path. To know Lisa was to love her. Lisa Jane Olson departed this life on March 18, 2013, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include, three sons, Adam C. Burnett, Nicholas S. Burnett and Benjamin A. Burnett all of Commerce City, CO; three daughters, Ashley A. (Cesar) Solis of Aurora CO, Diedre A. Burnett and Nicole E. Burnett both of Commerce City CO; two stepdaughters, Olivia J. (Jeremy) Miles of Aurora and Angela D. Burnett of Denver; her parents, Cherry A. Taylor of Comfrey, MN and Wayne A. Olson of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Tammy J. (Paul) Jasenski of Madison, WI and Paula J. (Richard) Strohm of Broken Arrow, OK; her grandson, Gabriel K. Solis of Aurora and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
