Life's Journey
On November 28, 2019, in Denver, Colorado, Linda Carol was delivered into the loving arms of her parents, Alonzo and Opal Mae Norris. She was the fifth of six children born into this family. Linda's arrival was met with both joy and challenge. She was born with Spinal Meningitis. Despite her medical concerns, Linda grew in to a vivacious, courageous, caring and humorous person. She was educated in the Denver Public School system, attending Denver Street Academy and Thomas Jefferson High School. Linda received her Christian education as a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Because of her nurturing nature, Linda was well suited for her life's work. She worked in the medical field, in Medical Records at the University of Colorado Health Center as well as being a health care provider. She worked with children and the elderly on a regular basis. With the love, patience, understanding and desire to help, Linda was a source of assistance and encouragement to many people.
The center of Linda's joy were her children, Latasha, Keaton, and Michael. When her grandchildren, Tachelle and Russell came along they provided a new level of endearment. When her great-grandchild, Lotus, arrived she put Linda over the top in love and pride.
It is said that "people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care". Linda was known for her caring. She had lifelong friendships because her door was open to anyone that needed her. If you need a shoulder to cry on, a word of wise counsel or just a listening ear, you could count on Linda to be there to speak life and love into the situation.
One of the things Linda enjoyed most was traveling. She loved to visit family and friends. She had an opportunity to travel to Texas, California and Las Vegas, just to name a few. On Friday afternoons it was not unusual for a gathering of friend to end up at Linda's for good old fashion "House Party".
Linda departed this life on July 14, 2019. Preceded on death were her parents Opal Mae and Alonzo, her brothers Alonzo Jr., and Cornell Norris. Left to cherish her memory are her children LaTasha (Russell) Grant III, Keaton D. Jones and Michael C. Simien, grandchildren, Tachelle and Russell IV, great granddaughter Lotus Cardoza; her siblings Harriett, Donna Norris, Michael (Jahmel) Norris, Kathy Fankhouser, special companions Ronnie Jones, Michael Simien, a host of other relatives and devoted friends.
