Mother Lettie Mae Jordan was born on January 2, 1920, in Lubbock, Texas to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bullock. She was the only child born to this union. She received her formal education in Lubbock, where she graduated from Dunbar High School. She later furthered her education by earning her Certification in Pattern Design from Emily Griffith Opportunity School. In 1947, Lettie united in holy matrimony to Charlie Jordan. The couple first met when they both lived in Lubbock. They shared a loving and happy marriage until Charlie preceded her in death on May 22, 1989. There were no children born to this union. Mother Jordan was employed by the family of the late Dr. Robert and his wife Betty Berris as their Home Care Provider for over 50 years. She was instrumental in the care of their children and grandchildren. She also worked for the family of Arthur and JoAnne Boss. In both homes, she was respected for being hardworking, dedicated and dependable. She was trusted confidante who performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Mother Jordan has been a faithful and dedicated member of King Baptist Church for over 40 years. She served her church and the Lord as President of the Mothers Board from 1984-2004; she was a member of the Missionary Department as well as the Bereavement Committee. She truly enjoyed her walk with the Lord and the fellowship shared with her church family. Mother Jordan was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she loved sewing, fishing and spending time with her close family friends. Her closest friends, Deacon James Truesdale, Margaret Yokely and Sandi Carr will miss the encouraging words she offered and the close camaraderie that they all shared together. She will also be remembered for being a good Christian woman who never complained and always had something uplifting to share. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful lady. To know Mother Jordan was to love her. Mother Lettie Mae Jordan departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on February 2, 2013, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her devoted friends, Deacon James (Gladys) Truesdale, Margaret Yokely, Sandi Carr, Reverend T.E. Hendricks and the King Baptist Church Family all of Denver; her nephew in law, Benny (Denise) Jordan of Beaumont, Texas and a host of other friends.
