LaWanda Lynn Clemons was born on January 11, 1973, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Lloyd E. Sydnor and Mariam L. Wingham Sydnor. She was the third child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her sisters, LaShone and LeVette. As a child, he siblings remember her pouting to get things she wanted. They also remember her singing "The Food Is Ready" to let the family know it was time to eat. She received her formal education in Denver, where she attended East High School. She later attended Emily Griffith Opportunity School and earned her General Education Diploma. LaWanda was the proud mother of four beautiful children, sons, Tyler, Tyree and daughters, Tamara and Tiarra. She was a mother who took great pride in the care and nurture of her family. She was later blessed with eight grandchildren, Meckenzie, Malachi, Jaziyah, Madison, Tyree, Jr., Tyaaron, Magnolia and at the time of her passing, she was expecting one more. They lovingly called her "NaNa" and fondly remember her praying for them and telling them, "We are going to Disneyland, ya'll get ready." On August 10, 2012, LaWanda united in holy matrimony to Cedric McCarty in Denver, they first met at Jesus Saves. He recalls, "I met an Angel." They shared many happy and precious moments together. By profession, LaWanda was a C.N.A. She worked for private clients. She was hard-working, dedicated and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. She was the personal caregiver for Mrs. Anderson for over seven years until her passing in 2001. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, LaWanda was a member of the House of Joy Miracle and Deliverance Church under the pastoral leadership of Apostle Ralph Beechum for a number of years. She did, however, enjoy visiting other churches in the area just to "get the word." LaWanda was a fun loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and other family members. She believed in the power of prayer and that everybody needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Her closest friend, Laquita Felder will miss the camaraderie's they shared together and the fact that she was a true and genuine friend. Her jovial personality will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman, who will be remembered for her unique way of letting others know how much she loved them even if she hurt your feelings.
