Laronda Abdullah

LaRhonda Ayesha Abdullah was born to her parents, Shewanda and Karim Abdullah on November 21,1970 in C’Dale, Illinois. She was the first child born to this union and was raised with her brother, Karim Abdullah, Jr.

As a child, LaRhonda enjoyed dancing and roller skating. She was fortunate to attend Michael Jackson concerts in her youth that inspired her love for dance.

LaRhonda was raised in Denver and was educated through Denver Public Schools. She attended and graduated from Montbello High School in 1989 with honors. She furthered her education by attending Empire Beauty College in 2011.

By profession, LaRhonda worked in customer service for United Airlines. She then moved into the food and service industry where she worked as an Assistant Manager at Welton Street Café.

In her free time, LaRhonda enjoyed cooking, baking. She had an amazing gift for preparing the most amazing meals. In addition, LaRhonda LOVED Garrett’s popcorn. LaRhonda a lot of time hanging out with her friend, Maualana Moye and mother, Shewanda. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Those that knew LaRhonda best describe her as being a spiritual woman who had quite the personality. She was very kind and welcoming and will truly be missed.

LaRhonda passed away on March 19, 2023. Those left to cherish her memory include her father, Karim Abdullah; mother, Shewanda Abdullah; brother, Karim Abdullah, Jr., her son Khalil, niece, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
