Lafleur Brewster

January 21, 1952 — November 10, 2017

LaFleur Denice Brewster was born on January 21, 1952 in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Lawrence Larry Cleo Brewster, Sr. and Betty Jean Brewster. LaFleur was the first born to this union. Her name, LaFleur meaning “The Flower” in French, was so befitting of her; she was so beautiful yet fragile. While growing up, she enjoyed the company of her younger siblings, sister, LaNee’, and brother, Lawrence, Jr. . LaFleur was educated in the Denver Public Schools District, and in 1970, she graduated from Manual High School, as a proud Thunderbolt. Education was important to her, subsequently LaFleur continued her education at the Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Later, she attended Metropolitan State College on the Auraria Campus in Denver. By vocation, LaFleur make a career in the restaurant industry. With more than 40 year of servicing customers with her smile, she provided excellence in customer service, dedication, and genuine care. She had a way of making everyone feel comfortable. Her most recent employment was with Church’s Chicken on 34th and Colorado Boulevard in Denver, and later, 42nd and Chambers Road in Montbello. She was a devoted team member who cared for her fellow employees and management team. Her co-workers, and management staff explain how she was an employee that always operated in the spirit of excellence and one who loved those she encircled. LaFleur loved her family, those who lived in her apartment building, and the many people she met on her journey called life. She took pleasure in watching old movies, listening to music and writing letters. Not many knew of her skills as a violinist. LaFleur enjoyed classical music too. “So many people were a blessing to her and she was touched by the many gifts; in addition, she was grateful for the visits, inquiries, and notes she received as well.” LaFleur will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is now in her home where she doesn’t have to worry she has everything she’s ever wanted, and most of all she is in the hands of Jesus, unconditionally loved and at peace. LaFleur is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother. LaFleur Denice Brewster departed this life in to the embrace of Jesus on November 9, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, LaNee’ Brewster; her nieces and nephews, Najla Brewster, Jahsee Brewster, Ajani Brown; her grand-nephew, Samuel McCarthy; one aunt, Audrey McConnell, and a host of first, second and third cousins, other relatives, and friends.
