Kiarah Shikale Perkins-Williams affectionately called “Shi” by family and friends was born on April 26, 1989, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Andre D. Perkins, Sr. and Patricia A. Howard Perkins.  She was the first born in the family.  She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Michael. Andre, Jr, and her sister, Kyla. As a child, she enjoyed tea parties with her dolls, riding her bike, keeping her room clean, and being a big sister to her siblings.

Kiarah received her formal education in Aurora, Colorado, where she graduated from William C. Hinkley High School in 2007.  Upon graduation, she received an academic scholarship and enrolled in the Leadership Program as part of Colorado State University Services. She furthered her education, by attending the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing.  She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2012.

On August 17, 2019, Kiarah united in holy matrimony to Wendell Williams, Jr.  They first met in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They exchanged vows in the Grand Cayman Islands.  They enjoyed traveling, to see the world, spending quality time together whether it was laying around being lazy, or out about meeting new friends.  Wendell remembers her hugs as being the most perfect in the world. They shared many happy and precious moments together.

By profession, Kiarah was a traveling nurse.  She was employed by Health Service Authority on the Cayman Islands.  As a Registered Nurse, she worked on the medical unit and had been there for almost four years.  The medical staff remembers her as being caring, and always made patients feel safe and secure.  She was a person full of life and vigor.  She was respected by her co-workers and the management team. Too many of the staff, she was called a “Superhero” in scrubs.  She always looked out for her team members and always advocated for better treatment of the nursing staff and patients.

Kiarah was a fun-loving lady who enjoyed traveling, eating out, and trying different foods in the restaurants visited, she enjoyed taking girl trips.  She loved Christmas and would be the first to start wearing Christmas attire. Her closest friends, Cristine, Rhesa, Samara, Paige, Lameisha, and Jessi, will miss the comraderies they shared over the years and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend.  They will miss her listening ear, her free spirit, her genuine loyalty, and her flawless beauty.  She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this Queen of a Woman.  To know Kiarah was to love her.

Kiarah Shikale Perkins-Williams departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on May 23, 2021, in the Grand Cayman Islands. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her husband, Wendell Williams, Jr. of Fortson, Georgia; her parents, Andre D. Sr. and Patricia A. Perkins of Aurora, Colorado; 3 siblings, Michael D. Perkins of Denver, Colorado, Andre D. Perkins, Jr., and Kyla S. Perkins both of Aurora, Colorado; grandparents, Leroy M. Deffebaugh, and Bobbie J. Deffebaugh both of Aurora, Colorado; her niece, Kimorah S. Perkins of Aurora, Colorado; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
