Life’s Journey
Kenneth Wayne Jenkins
Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and
cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone;
those we love can never be more than a thought apart;
for as long as there is memory, they’ll live on in the heart.
Kenneth Wayne Jenkins was born on February 28th 1971, to his parents, Al Lee Jenkins, and Marsha Simmons Jenkins in Bradley, Arkansas. He was the 7th child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brother, Bruce, and his sisters, Vixie, Margaret Ann, Sheila, Theresa, Yvette, and Dana. As a child, he was fascinated with firetrucks and loved running behind them. He also enjoyed fishing with his family.
Kenneth received his formal education by graduating from George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. He furthered his education by attending Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas.
In 1993, Kenneth met Angel Bryant while attending a social gathering in Denver. They were twenty-one years old. Angel remembers him playing football in both college and in Semi-Pro Football Legues in Colorado. To this union, three sons, Kenneth, Kyle, and Kenan were born. His sons also played football. They all shared many happy and precious moments together.
By profession, Kenneth was employed by the Denver Rescue Mission as a Trainer. He loved his job and the work done to help the homeless. He worked well with fellow co-workers and the management team. He performed his duties with a spirit of excellence.
Kenneth was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he continued to love football, listening to music, eating good food, and spending quality time with family. His closest friends, Tia Tyrell and Tiffany Tyrell will miss the many comraderies they shared together and the fact that he was a true and trusted friend and an excellent football player. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known the kind and wonderful man. To know Kenneth was to love him.
Kenneth Wayne Jenkins departed this life on January 25, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his wife, Louise Collette Jenkins; 3 sons, Kenneth D. Jenkins, Kyle L. Jenkins, and Kenan D. Jenkins; his brother, Bruce Jenkins; 4 sisters, Theresa Jenkins, Ann Jenkins, Shelia Jenkins, and Vixie Matthews; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
