Kenneth Wallace Ivory, Jr. was born on January 30, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan to his parents, Kenneth W. Ivory, Sr. and Virgie Lee Stevenson Ivory. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his sisters, Sandra and Juanita, who lovingly called him "Butch." As a young man, he was always industrious. He was known to take apart televisions and radios, and then put them back together. Sandra remembers Kenneth trying to fix the wing of a wounded bird; needless to say it didn't work. Kenneth received his formal education in Denver, where he attended Manual High School. On June 2, 1969, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the military, he received his GED, and earned a National Defense Service Medal. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged. Kenneth united in holy matrimony to the former Lavern Meyers in Denver; to this union a daughter, Kristin was born. The marriage was later dissolved. By profession, Butch was an Auto Mechanic. He was the owner and operator of his own business. He truly enjoyed being his own boss and was a man who took pride in his work. He performed his duties with precision and accuracy. Butch was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and fixing cars. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known this kind, compassionate, generous man, who always made himself available to anyone who called on him. To know Kenneth was to love him. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kristin Ivory, his father, Kenneth Ivory, Sr., and his sister, Tana Lee Goins. Kenneth "Butch" Wallace Ivory, Jr. departed this life on July 30, 2014, those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his mother, Virgie L. Ivory; two sisters, Sandra L. Young and Juanita L. Ivory all of Denver and a host of other relatives and many friends.
