Keith Weddington

Keith was delivered into the loving arms of his parents, Clark Kemuel and Mae Curtis (Rhone) Weddington on September 10, 1956, In Temple, Texas. He was third of six children born into this family. Keith was a fun loving little boy who enjoyed being with his family. Keith went the grade school in Temple, Texas. Keith was a talented basketball player during his junior high school days. The family moved to Denver where Keith attended George Washington and John F. Kennedy High School. He later completed course at Emily Griffith Opportunity School where he enhanced his skill set in the field Housekeeping and Janitorial service In 1976, Keith met the love of his life, Juanita R. Lewis. On their first date, Keith took Juanita to a haunted house. They were later married and to this union came three children Tomorrow Tiffany, Keith LaVance, and Kenneth Allen Weddington. He was a loving husband and a great father. He loved to play jokes n the family. When a family member would go outside to get the paper or the mail, he would lock the door, look out of the window and laugh at them, pretending that he didn’t know who they were. Juanita and Keith were best friends, lovers, parents and partners. The enjoyed their family, friends and sharing time together. Juanita loved to accompanying Keith when he had engagement with the band . She also looked forward to celebrating his birthdays in September with a Bar B Q cookout in his honor. Keith was a gifted musician. He learned to play guitar when he was 17 years old and stayed with it until his death. He played the in several bands throughout his life. His favorite artist was Jimi Hendricks. When he was younger Keith dressed and looked a little bit like Jimi. His band was called “The Delite-Tyme-Energy Band”. His children have fond memories of going to band rehearsal with him on the weekends. He shared his love of music with his family and taught his son Kenneth how to play the drums. Keith worked various jobs over the years in the service industry. For the last 22 years Keith was employed by Denver Public Schools where he was a janitorial professional. Because Keith was a positive and encouraging person, his coworkers enjoyed talking to him and benefiting from his wisdom. Family was always his priority. Keith’s grandchildren remember Papa taking them to the store. To children all stores are the candy store. They enjoyed spending time Papa, but they were also clear about the consequences of getting caught jumping on the bed. They got caught every time. Proceeding him in death is his parents Kenneth and Mae Weddington, and his sister Keren Weddington. Keith departed this life peacefully, on March 4, 2018. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 41 years Juanita, three children Tomorrow Tiffany, Keith LaVance, and Kenneth Allen Weddington, five grandchildren Reese, Akeem, Cherish, Lyric, Sincere and one on the way, two brothers Kenneth (Nancy) and Curtis Weddington, three sisters Delphia, Weddington, Jackquelin Johnson and Kathy Jones, one Aunt Cora Lay, a host of nieces, nephew, beloved relatives and dear friends. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal” Rest In Peace Keith, we will miss you.
