Kathy Giboney

Kathy B. Boyd-Giboney was born on November 18, 1956 in Denver, Colorado to Raymond and Mildred Boyd. She was the youngest of six children born to this union.

Kathy received her education with Denver Public Schools; Hallett Elementary School, Grant Jr. High School, and George Washington High School where she graduated in 1974. Kathy continued her education by attending Metro State College in Denver and University of Colorado. She completed her formal education when she was awarded a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from the University of Colorado School of Nursing in 1979.

Kathy started her career in the medical field as a Registered Nurse for the City & County of Denver, Denver Health and Hospitals. She loved the nursing field and was proud to be involved with helping others especially when they were ill. Kathy retired after 30 years of service as a Registered Nurse of the City & County of Denver. Kathy was well respected as a leader at Denver Health. She was an inspiration for her niece Felicia who entered the nursing field.

Kathy married Carl Giboney in 1984 and to this union were born two boys; Brandon William Cole Giboney and Kelsey Micah Giboney (Deceased) and one daughter, Tanisha Giboney (Deceased) Kathy will be remembered as a mother who loved her children and would do anything for them.

Kathy loved the outdoors and going to the mountains for camping and sightseeing. She loved to travel whether it be by car, airplane or ship. Her travels took her to places in the Caribbean Island on many occasions as well as cities in the U.S. She enjoyed shopping for antiques and going to the Goodwill looking for bargains. Kathy was an avid "Jazz" music fan. She loved attending jazz festivals with family and friendsespecially in Winter Park and Telluride. Kathy's favorite song was "Heaven Must Be Like This" by the Ohio Players. She enjoyed playing cards and entertaining her family and friends.

Kathy departed this life on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at ManorCare Nursing Home in Denver, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her Son, Kelsey Micah Boyd, her Daughter, Tanisha Giboney, Mother, Mildred Boyd, Father, Raymond Boyd, Sister, Janice Norwood, Brother, Raymond Boyd Jr.

Kathy is survived by her son, Brandon William Cole Giboney, Aurora, Colorado, her grandson, Damian Giboney, Greeley, CO, two brothers; Dr. William Boyd, Oakland, CA, Larry Boyd (Glendoria), Fort Worth, TX, one sister, Doris Davis, Lake Charles, LA and her Aunt; Shirley Bean, Denver, CO. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
