Kathryn Ann Foote was born on February 27, 1949, in Marion, Virginia to her parents, George William Foote and Mary Charles Lee Foote. She was the second child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, George, William, Gary, Handy, Donald, Keith and her sisters, Wanda and Tia. Kathryn is remembered as always willing to help her mother with the care of her siblings. They also remember her sleep walking to the local store. She received her early education in Virginia where she graduated from Virginia High School in 1966. Kathryn united in holy matrimony to James H. Famber, Sr., when they both lived in Virginia. To this union James H. Jr., Deanna P, Benita L. and Tia N. were born. She was a loving and devoted mother whose pride and joy was found in the care and nurture of her family. She was later blessed with eight grandchildren, Deanna, Tanasia, Aaliyah, Jazman, Justyce, Amythyst, Kaela, and James, III, who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "Grandma" and fondly remember her as being loving, fun to be around and always cooking their favorite foods. They also remember her having personal conversations with them and always available when needed. By profession, Kathryn was employed by the Nelnet Corporation in their Customer Service Division. She is remembered as being hard-working, dedicated and dependable. She carried a pleasant personality and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a person who exceeded expectations of her Supervisors and worked well with others. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Kathryn accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at a very early age, she was a member of the Lee Street Baptist Church for over 35 years. She truly believed in the power of prayer and that everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Kathryn was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and watching her favorite television programs: Criminal Minds and The Big Bang Theory. Her closest friends, Jackie Mays, Debra Brock and Maria Carter will miss the camaraderie's they all shared together and the fact that she was a true and genuine friend. Kathryn was a true fighter. You could see it in her eyes. She was not born strong but she was made strong. She was sculptured to be her own hero. When the world let her down; she picked herself up and continued on her journey. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this strong, independent, and loving woman. To know Kathryn was to love her. Kathryn Ann Foote departed this life on June 8, 2016, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her 4 children, James H. Famber, Jr., Benita L. Foote, Deanna P. Famber and Tia N. Famber all of Aurora, CO; 5 brothers, Michael W. Foote, Gary E. Foote, Donald G. Foote, Harry P. Foote and Keith L. Foote all of Bristol, Virginia; 2 sisters, Wanda L. Foote, Harrisburg, Pennsylvia and Tia Y. Foote, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; 8 grandchildren, Deanna C. Famber, Tanasia R. Peterson Famber, Aaliyah N. Famber, Jazman B. A. Famber, Justyce A. Famber, Amythyst Nyx Famber, Kaela Marie Famber and James H. Famber, III; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
