Karen Rena Kemp was born June 28, 1958 in Denver, Colorado to Gladys Bernice and Robert Heslep Kemp, jr. The youngest of eight, Karen was beloved by her siblings: William, Hazel Faye, Charles, Leticia, Jacqueline and Robert III. She was a joyful, intelligent, caring child, who grew to become a beautiful woman who possessed the sweetest disposition one could hope for.
In the late 80’s, Karen wed Reggie Robinson. They were blessed with two sons, Vernard and Faymous, who were the center of her life. Her sons made her the happiest that she could be when she became grandmother to their children, Vision and Sir ‘El. She loved spending time with the children, and she was so proud of both.
Karen attended Denver Public Schools, graduating in 1972 from George Washington High School with honors. She pursued a career as a Medical Assistant, graduating second in her class from Everest College in 2010. Karen’s kindness was on full display when she cared for seniors, and they knew that she was a special individual. She loved and cared for them in addition to selling Mary Kay cosmetics. She treated all her clients as though they were her own family members, and her presence was a ray of sunshine for ten years in the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her. Karen also attended to the needs of her own mother after Gladys became ill. Karen loved and cared deeply for everyone, always putting their needs before her own, caring for her mother without complaint until Gladys passed away on March 5, 2020.
Karen’s intelligence was vast, and in her spare time, she loved to write. She wrote plays and in addition, had many ideas patented. She took pride in her appearance, her beautiful hair styled and shining. She was a lovely woman, her sparkling eyes and a smile that could truly light up a room. The beauty of her soul could be seen when she graced you with that wonderful smile.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Gladys and Robert; her sister, Leticia; and her brothers, William, Charles, and Phillip.
On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, Karen peacefully departed this life and embraced her Lord and Savior. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Vernard J. Robinson and Daryl Faymous (Anthony) Rentie; her grandchildren, Vision Robinson and Sir ‘El Rentie; her aunts, Clarice, Authoree, Berteal, Geraldine and Arletha; her sisters, Hazel Faye Webb and Jacqueline Ross-Biggers; her brother, Robert III; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Karen, we love you and you will be missed
