Julius Delaney

March 1, 1946 — January 4, 2021

Englewood, CO

Julius Delaney was born in Denver, Colorado on March 1st 1946.

He passed on the morning of January 4th, 2021

He always looked for the positive even in the worst of times. He wasn't the strongest or biggest yet he wasn't afraid to work, play and even if necessary fight for what he believed in. He was deeply active and passionate about human rights. Julius knew many famous figures and groups from the 50's, 60's and 70's on a first name basis.

He taught many and learned what he could when he could.  Julius was happiest with his beloved wife Nola Kathleen Delaney.

He was an ardent Broncos fan and followed all Colorado sports all year long.
Julius was a sports afficionado, fan and somewhat of an authority on baseball in specific although he was quite knowledgeable about all sports.
He was a father, a son, a brother,  an uncle, and grandfather. He played baseball well enough to tryout with the Cleveland Indians.

A quadriceps injury prevented further participation at the professional level although he still played long afterwards and he never lost his love for that game. Julius served in the military - US Army and he was also a dedicated member of the National Parks Conservancy. He was an accomplished chess player and a great teacher.
He loved soul, funk, jazz & blues better than just about anything else and he loved hearing anything played by 89.3 KUVO Jazz Radio Station. He was a lifelong fan and member of the KUVO Jazz Family.
Julius will be missed yet never forgotten as he now lives within the hearts of everybody who truly knew him.

Julius Delaney was predeceased by his wife of many years Nola Kathleen Delaney, his parents Aletha and Justin Delaney, siblings; Justin Jr., Jeanette and Alma Jean Delaney and Stepson Jeffrey Rogers.

Julius is survived by children; Chanda Chess (Los Angeles CA), Steven Aguilar (Denver CO), Christina Gilford (Denver CO), Tia Delaney (Aurora CO),
