Julian Jones

July 19, 1976 — June 17, 2019

Precious Memories
Julian Tyrone Jones was born on July 19, 1976 in Denver, Colorado to proud parents, Raymond (Ray) Cutler, Jr. and Debra Elaine Gore-Johnson.

Julian was reared in Denver where he attended elementary, middle school, and high school. From a young boy through his teen years, Julian was a member of Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Leroy Lengyon, Pastor. He enjoyed participating with the Youth Department, Young Adult Choir, and Usher Board for many years. He also enjoyed his roles in the Church Plays. He was Baptized at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, still under the Leadership of Pastor Lengyon. Years later as a young man, Julian brought his small children, Julian Jones and Aaliyah Jones to Sunday School at St. Stephen, and would sit there and hear the lesson with them. This was his children’s introduction to our Savior Jesus Christ.

Julian learned a trade and worked professionally as a Maintenance Technician for the Tamarac Square. He excelled at this profession so much, that he was often called upon to perform various home repairs for family members and only charged just pennies on the dollar! Despite his skill as an All-Around Handyman, Julian’s true love & talent was Singing and Rapping (mostly singing) which he expressed at weddings, Karaoke, and even was afforded an opportunity to briefly perform at one of Denver’s local nightclubs. Anyone that knew Julian knew he had a knack for, and took enjoyment in being in front of an audience!

He possessed a unique sense of humor, and eventually would pull a laugh from those he interacted with. Occasionally, Julian was that rare-Jokester that left his unsuspecting “victim” totally blushed.

At 6’6″, a handsome face, and athletic build, some would call Julian a ladies man, but in this respect he carried himself quite humbly. Though he got off-track as a Dad, his two greatest accomplishments in life were his children, Julian and Aaliyah. Sadly, four months before he became seriously ill, he reflected on how he would like to start spending time with them and took the initiative to purchase bunk-beds… in his mind, this was a good first step.

Julian Tyrone Jones departed this earth on June 17, 2019. He’s preceded in death by his Mother, Debra Elaine Gore-Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his Father Raymond Cutler, Jr., Son Julian Jones, Daughter Aaliyah Jones, Sister Alicia Johnson, Grandmother Marceline Cutler, and a host of other Siblings, Relatives and Friends.
