Juaneva Qualls

December 31, 1955 — December 23, 2015

Juaneva Marie Qualls was born December 31, 1955, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to her parents, Donald Lee Qualls, and LaJuana Glendawene Thomas. Juaneva was privileged to be the youngest and only girl in a family of three boys, Ray, Ricky, and Darryl. Growing up, she was a good girl who was quiet, shy, and loved to dance. She had the sweetest heart, and a good sense of humor. Serious about her ducation, Juaneva stayed on the honor roll, and was an honor student. Being an honor student has its privileges; she was selected to be an exchange student, traveling from the United States to Paris, France. She loved Paris. Juaneva graduated from Manual High School in Denver, Colorado. She continued her education, receiving her Cosmetology license. Juaneva began her journey into motherhood after the birth of her son, Idris. Shortly after, Juaneva would meet James Stewart, the two were inseparable. Soon after they would marry and move to Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union, a beautiful baby girl was born, Candace. James remembers traveling and vacationing with the family. He loved just being a complete family. Her children are reminded of their mother making artichoke pie, watching the cartoons, and making them laugh, as she would "Crack herself up." They also recall her fussing about everything. The family moved back to Denver, and the marriage was dissolved. On November 6, 1990, Juaneva met William White. The two would share many happy and memorable moments together and after 25 years, the love between Juaneva and William still lives on. Juaneva was blessed with two grandchildren, Javonte, and Anthony, who were an added source of joy. She loved taking care of her grandkids, and spending time with them. They lovingly called her "Grand Mama" or "Granny." They remember her always being nice, making them food, and taking them to Denver City Park and the Zoo. While in Las Vegas, Juaneva was employed as a cashier/slot attendant at the Flamingo, Las Vegas World, and the Rainbow Club. If you ask Juaneva, she knew and worked every position on the job. She enjoyed working in Las Vegas meeting huge celebrities such as Red Foxx, Sugar Ray Leonard, and many many more. Juaneva attended Scott United Methodist Church from childhood until now. She loved being amongst the church family and she loved the Lord with her heart. In her free time, Juaneva enjoyed spending time with her family, eating out at restaurants, watching TV and movies, playing with the kids and fussing. She loved going to comedy clubs, concerts, and jazz in the park. Most of all, Juaneva loved to laugh, and make others laugh. She was a woman of many words, never holding her tongue and always speaking her mind. Juaneva childhood friend, Donna Sanders-Woolfolk, they shared good times together. Juaneva will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Juaneva was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lee Qualls, and LaJuana Glendawene Thomas; and all of her brothers, Ray Elliot Thomas, Ricky Qualls, Darryl Qualls. Juaneva Marie Qualls departed this life on December 23, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. The family she leaves to cherish and remember includes her husband, William White; her children, Idris Ikner, and Candace Qualls; her grandchildren, Javonte Troutman, Anthony Hutchinson; her niece, Doneta Carson; her nephew, Lavelle Carson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
