Joshua Paul Thompson was born on September 18, 1980, in Longmont, Colorado to his mother, Mary Wright. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by the love of his brother, Matthew and his sister, Jennifer. As a child, he was adventurous. His mother fondly remembers him crawling on a hard rock surface outside when he was five months old. Joshua loved playing with his siblings and his neighborhood friends. Joshua received his early education in Boulder, Colorado where he graduated from Fairview High School. While in high school, he loved and played all sports; however, he lettered in football and was voted the most valuable player (MVP). He was a member of the varsity football team and was invited to play for the Colorado State University Football Team, where he furthered his education, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Finance. Joshua was also a volunteer Role Model for the Big Brothers Little Brothers of Denver, mentoring his little brother, Trevor, for seven years. On October 10, 2009, Joshua united in holy matrimony to the former, Charmessa Noel Perkins. They exchanged vows in the Central Baptist Church in Denver, officiated by Reverend King Harris. Charmessa remembers her husband as a generous man who did for others unconditionally. She remembers the two of them walking down town; when they came upon a homeless man asking for spare change. Josh handed the man a crisp $100.00 dollar bill and told him "Jesus loved him"; that's how Josh lived his life; being a willing vessel helping others. They enjoyed traveling and listening to John Legend. To their union, Yarah and Evan were born. With this union, he became the father of Gabriel. He was a man, deeply rooted in the care and nurture of his family. Evan loved playing with his father. Yarah loved her father building tents in the living room and playing the game "Sorry." Gabriel fondly remembers him teaching him how to fish and the two of them talking about sports. He also remembers how he attended his sports activities, never missing a game. By profession, Joshua was a Real Estate agent. He has worked with Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate Properties and at the time of his passing, he worked with Cherry Creek Properties. Josh had a heart for helping, he would often go above and beyond the call of duty to help buyers who thought they would never be able to own their own home. He was also a Professional Sports Ticket Broker. He always worked in a spirit of excellence. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Joshua was a member of the Potter's House of Denver, under the pastoral leadership of Pastor E. Christopher Hill. He truly believed in the power of prayer and that everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Joshua was a fun loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. His closest friends, Nolan Nichols, Mike Montoya, Adam Micheli, and Andrew Beelner, will miss the camaraderie's they all shared together and the fact that he was a true and trusted friend. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Joshua was to love him.
