Johnny Phillips

May 28, 1958 — June 2, 2019

Johnny Ray Phillips was born on May 28, 1958 in Warren Arkansas to his parents John Henry and Gloria Dean Phillips. Johnny Ray was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his sisters and brothers, Lorraine Mitchell, Lawanda Phillips-Martin Jacqueline Phillips, Judy Moore, Lisa Phillips, David Lee Phillips, and Randy Phillips.

Growing up Johnny was very active in school; he received his early education at Garden Place elementary and continued on by attending, Horse Man Junior High School. He was so proud when he finally graduated from Denver's legendary George Washington High School, where he sung in the Glee Club and was active in ROTC.

Johnny was a hard-working man and started at the early age of sixteen when he boldly walked into the Lawry Air force Base and obtained his first cooking job that afforded him the opportunity to proudly buy his first brand new car a "Formula Fire Bird". After High School, Johnny went on to truck driving school, which had everyone in awe because he never wanted to drive one, he just liked riding in them. Johnny Ray worked a lot of jobs, he even helped build up the City of Aurora and Denver Metro Area as a construction worker. He really loved working outdoors because it gave him the opportunity to met a lot of people and last but never the least, it gave him the opportunity to keep his eyes on the ladies.

Johnny never met a stranger because he always was gaining friends with his outgoing and loving personality. To know Johnny was to love Johnny. Our brother will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory and keep his legacy alive, His brothers David L. Phillips and Randy Phillips. His sisters: Betty L. Mitchell, LaWanda Phillips-Martin, Jacquelin Phillips, Judy Moore, Lisa Phillips, Theresa Hawkins, and Kathy Phillips. Many nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
