John Shoeboot

May 6, 1961 — January 7, 2015

John Dawson Shoeboot was born on May 6, 1961, in Denver, Colorado to his parents, Dr. Haskel James Shoeboot and Maxine Jeanette Thomas. He was the fifth child born in the family. He received his formal education in Denver where he graduated from Manual High School in 1979. He furthered his education by attending Metro State College on the Auraria Campus where he majored in Computer Science and minored in Business Administration. At a very early age, John exhibited great potential. He was a skilled Handyman and was known to take different types of projects. He was the type of man who worked well with others and was always willing to learn. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, John accepted the Lord as his personal savior at a very early age. He joined Missionary Baptist Church. He played the clarinet and piano at church and school under the direction of Dr. Haskel Shoeboot. He was blessed to rededicate his life to the Lord under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Brent Coburn at the Prince of Peace COGIC in Aurora, Colorado. His favorite spiritual song was "I Won't Complain" the song ministered to him and to others. John was the proud father of four sons, Jovan, Jordan, Aaron, Joshua and two daughters, Lelia and Denise. The family shared many happy and memorable moments together. In 2013, he re-united with a longtime friend, Pauline Marie Lindsey. The couple loved the Lord and had planned to do ministry work together. They both were looking forward to their wedding date of May 16, 2015. John was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to songs from the 70's. He was a very intellectual person with a wide vocabulary. He enjoyed discussions with others and kept up with current events. He was the type of man who never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He leaves a void that can never be filled. To know John was to love him. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Haskel J. Shoeboot; his mother, Maxine J.
