Jimmy Lee Adams, Jr. was born on May 5, 1953, in Hayti, Missouri to his parents, Jimmie Adams and Mozell Brown Adams. He was the second child out of nine children born to this union. He was raised surrounded by his brothers and sisters, David, Amos, Jessie, Lorenzo, LeAndre, Rosie, Betty, and Carolyn. His siblings remember working with Jimmy, loving to run around in the woods, and playing. Jimmy completed his formal education in Denver Public Schools at Manual High School. He surrounded himself with many friends that would stay close for many years. Jimmy was the proud father of Telesha, Jimmy, III, September, and Lastar. They shared many happy moments together. On April 16, 2015, Jimmy and Beverly Jackson married to create a loving union in Denver, Colorado. Beverly remembers family reunions, family time, church, and sports all being important in their relationship. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Niija, Gianni, Adriel, Saunders, Jamal, Shayla, Cierra, Mayjia, J-Romeo, Destiny, and Anaias; and one great grandchild, Sahara, Phillips. The grandchildren would lovingly nickname Jimmy, "Jimbo." Jimbo would spend quality time with his grandchildren, babysitting, taking them to basketball games, and being an excellent listener. He truly cared for and loved his children and grandchildren. By profession, Jimmy was a Safe House Supervisor for Arapahoe House. His colleagues, co-workers, and clients respected and honored their time with Jimmy; he was so easy to talk to, and worked very well with everyone. Jimmy was a member of King Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and understood that all of his help came from the Lord. In his leisure time, Jimmy enjoyed his time with his family, reading the newspaper, dancing, dressing up, singing, and watching basketball and football. His best friend, James "G.O." Thomas, will miss the camaraderie they shared. They were practically brothers. Jimmy had a big heart, and loved his family and friends. To know Jimmy was to love him. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Mozell Adams; and his sisters, Rosie Adams, Betty McKelvin. Jimmy Lee Adams, Jr. departed this life on January 25, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.
