Jewell Lofton

Jewell Elaine Lofton was born on July 20, 1937, in Denver Colorado to William Henry Lofton and Lillian Mae Vivian Jones Lofton. She was the ninth of nine children born in the family. Jewell was educated in the Denver Public School system and graduated from Manual High School in 1955. She furthered her education and earned her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from the University of Colorado. Jewell worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years and retired as a Pay Technician. After retirement, Jewell worked actively in the Christian Science Church. She was a second reader for the church and also worked in the Christian Science Reading Room. Jewell was a very private person but she treasured the time that she spent with her family. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful lady. To know Jewell was to love her. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. God called Jewell home on January 1, 2015. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include, one brother, William (Idell) Lofton, Denver, Colorado; sister in law, Frances Lofton, Denver, Colorado; she was very fond of her devoted nieces, Luanne (Adrain) Clemons, Mychal Reynolds, and Casi Henderson; she is also remembered by her best friend, Jeri Hatanaka and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
