Jessie Jean Elliott was born on March 13, 1949, in Holly Grove, Arkansas to her parents, Ruben Henry Marshbank and Jessie Ree Holden Marshbank. She was the fourth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brother, Herman and her sisters, Essie, Ethel and Jemmie. As a child, she is remembered by her siblings as always making fun of them. The family relocated to Denver, Colorado and Jessie received her formal education by attending Manual High School. On May 10, 1980, Jessie united in holy matrimony to Raymond Elliott. They first met while they both visited Oneida Park. They exchanged vows in family and friend attended backyard wedding. Raymond remembers his wife as loving and full of joy and happiness. To this union, two children Raymond, Jr. and Trina were born. Trina fondly remembers she and her mother going to the nail shop together and enjoying there "girl time together" which sometimes included them watching movies together or just sitting and talking to one another. She was later blessed with five grandchildren, Montaye, Bobby, Jr., Kataya, Billy, Jr. and Daeshawn who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They remember her as loving, kind, and always making them laugh. By profession, Jessie was employed by Cater Air as a Supervisor in the Catering Department. She was hard-working, dedicated and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Jessie was a member of Central Baptist Church. She joined the church under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend W.O. Mayes. Jessie was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, dancing, being with family and of course her fashion. Her closest friends, Margie and Cassey will miss the camaraderie's they all shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this Queen of a Woman. To know Jessie was to love her. Jessie Jean Elliott departed this life on July 20, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her loving and devoted husband, Raymond B. Elliott; her daughter, Trina R. Elliott; her brother, Herman E. Marshbank; 3 sisters, Essie B. (Willie) Lundy, Ethel M. Ballard, and Jemmie L. (Erroll) Manor all of Denver; 5 grandchildren, Montaye Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Jr., Kataya Riley, Billy Riley, Jr. and Daeshawn Riley and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
