Jenny Pigford

Jenny Ann Pigford was born on May 1, 1954, in Denver, Colorado to George H. Pigford, Sr. and Ruth Bluford Pigford. She was raised surrounded by her siblings, Annie, Alieen, Pearline, Corrine, Mary Louise, Margaret, Evelyn, George Jr., Lucy, Barbara, James, and David. As a child, she was feisty and a daddy's girl. She often told stories of growing up on farm surrounded chickens, goats, cows and her beloved shetland pony. Jenny received her formal education by attending the Denver Public Schools. Jenny was the proud mother of two sons, Marcus and Rodney. She was a loving and caring mother whose pride and joy was the care and nurture of her family. She was later blessed with two grandchildren, Nahshonnn, Sr. and Dashonn, and two great grandchildren, Nahshonn, Jr. and Kaira, who all were and additional source of joy and pride in her life. They shared many happy and precious moments together. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Jenny was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. She joined the church under pastoral leadership of Reverend Johnny Jenkins. Jenny was fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed hosting parties and large family gatherings. She was a phenomenal cook and master baker. She believed that presentation was as equally and important as preparation. Jenny was a person who never met a stranger. Her closest friends will miss her generosity and willingness to help others. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and caring woman. To know Jenny was to love her. Jenny Ann Pigford departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on December 3, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include two sons, Rodney D. Pigford and Marcus Pigford both Denver; two brothers, James (Gloria) Pigford of Sacramento, California and George H. (Lois) Pigford, Jr. of Fox Hill, Colorado; 2 grandsons, Nashonn Pigford, Sr., Dashonn Pigford; 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
