Javontae Tajae Shaw, Sr., was born on August 13, 1996, in Aurora, Colorado, to his parents, Jeffon Lanard Shaw and Ilinkia Shaucole Coleman. He was the firstborn in the family and was raised surrounded by his brothers, Derrick, Jr., Isaiah, and his sisters, I’lani, Briajanay, and Jayionna. Growing up, Javontae was strong-minded and determined. He enjoyed having his own money and always found ways of making money.
Javontae received his formal education by attending Central High School in Aurora, Colorado. He furthered his education by attending trade school in Watkins, Colorado. He later earned his GED and continued his academics by receiving his Barbers License.
Javontae was the proud father of a son named Javontae Tajae Shaw, Jr. He was the apple of his father’s eye. Nothing gave him more pride and joy than spending quality time with his son. They shared many happy and memorable moments together.
By profession, Javontae was a Barber. He was employed with Sauce Money Barbershop. He was hard-working, dedicated, and performed his duties with fine meticulous detail. He loved his job and the patrons that he served.
Javontae was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In addition to the time shared with his son, he loved the many happy and precious moments shared with his family and friends. His closest friend, D’Andre Mayfield, who preceded him in death, shared many comraderies. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful young man. To know Javontae was to love him.
Javontae Tajae Shaw, Sr. departed this life on January 25, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his mother, Ilinkia S. (Akinlabi) Coleman of Denver, Colorado; his son, Javontae T. Shaw, Jr. of Aurora, Colorado; two brothers, Derrick L. Evans, Jr. of Aurora, Colorado and Isaiah Carter of Wichita, Kansas; three sisters, I’lani R. Evans, Briajanay Shaw, and Jaiyonna Shaw all of Denver, Colorado; grandparents, Kathryn Wiley, Derrick L. Wiley Sr., and Rosalyn Christian all of Aurora, Colorado; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
