Jamillah Ameen-Moore

October 6, 1972 — June 8, 2021

Denver, CO

Jamillah Zorrief Ameen-Moore, “Millah Cat,” was born October 6th, 1972 in Denver, Colorado to Veronica Ameen and Zeke Ameen. She was the fourth and youngest child born to this union. As a child, her mother would often say, “Millah being the baby she would always try to follow up behind her older siblings and loved playing with animals especially cats.”

Jamillah graduated from Denver East High School and was a proud Angel Alumni. She created lifelong friendships while in school and enjoyed learning. Jamillah was an avid reader, researcher and loved engaging in conversations with others.

Her career began in the medical care field and she would later find her niche working at FedEX Company as a tenured employee. Jamillah was a hard worker and naturally progressed in the company to a Carrier Delivery Driver where she would later retire. She loved her time with FedEx and was always thankful for the many wonderful people she got the opportunity to meet and work with. After 10+ years with the company she was forced to retire due to medical reasons. After retirement, Jamillah devoted her time and life to her family, traveling, exercising, and spending time with her friends.

In the late 90’s Jamillah was diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease. Unfortunately she would spend the rest of her adult years battling with this cumbersome disease. While battling Lupus she stayed strong and always fought, never allowing the disease to take over her life despite the challenges put forthright.

Jamillah married her childhood sweetheart William Erby Moore Jr., “JuJu,” on August 16, 2012. Jamillah and William shared a life of over thirty years together and grew up in the same neighborhood, Park Hill. Together they had two children, Adonis Ameen-Moore and Laila Rose Ameen-Moore. Jamillah and William loved riding bikes together, traveling, watching or attending sporting events and most of all spending time with their children, Adonis and Laila, and grandchildren, Jaylen, Amirah, and Amiyah.

On June 8, 2021, Jamillah transitioned in her home leaving behind her husband, William Moore; son, Adonis Ameen-Moore; daughter, Laila Ameen-Moore; grandson, Jaylen Ameen-Moore; granddaughters, Amirah Ameen-Moore and Amiyah Ameen-Moore; her parents, Veronica Ameen and Zeke Ameen; siblings, LaPrecious Branch-Pledger, Khadija Ameen, William Ameen, and Shelia Ameen. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
