James Dennis Smith-Grigsby III. Born on a serene evening of June 28th, 2003, James entered this world as a beacon of light to his parents, Acguajita Adams and Charles Grigsby. His journey through life was filled with love, laughter, and an unmatched zest for living.

James grew up in Colorado and Oklahoma City, where he embraced all aspects of life with open arms. Known for his magnetic personality and genuine kindness, James had a way of making everyone around him feel at ease. His love for dancing and music showcased his creative soul, while his passion for sports like basketball, football, and lacrosse highlighted his athleticism and competitive spirit.

Unexpectedly, on February 15th, 2024, James departed from this world at the young age of 20. As we bid our final farewell to James today, we hold onto the memories of his infectious smile and the warmth he brought into every room. Although he may no longer be with us in the physical sense, the love he shared with us will forever reside in our hearts.

James leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew him. A loving son, a protective brother and uncle, a devoted father - he touched the lives of many. Survived by his mother ,Acguajita Adams; father, Charles Grigsby;  siblings Taniece Davis, Tavia Martinez, Jamieon Adams, Lashay Adams, Markeesha Asberry, Charles Grigsby Jr., Ashan’te Asberry; and his daughter Layla Smith; James' presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
