Jacquelyn Turnbough-Dawkins

November 18, 1957 — October 17, 2015

One's story of life begins with their sunrise (birth). All chapters following are an ongoing work in progress, revealing the highs and lows in each one's life; with each day urging the author to the that climatic "story ending." Jacquelyn Renée "Jazz" "Jackie" Turnbough-Dawkins, life story began when she was born on November 18, 1957, in Denver, Colorado to Roosevelt and Thelma Tunson Turnbough. She was the first born from that union. Jackie grew up surrounded by love from grandmother, her brothers Antonio Tunbough and Stafford Anderson. As a child Jackie was an avid reader by the age of 4. She loves roller skating on the sidewalks, riding her bicycle, and playing shenanigans on her brothers and father. At an early age, she accepted Christ with her grandmother, Mrs. Cleta Tunson at Zion Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado under the direction of Reverend Liggins. Jackie's personal quote and her motto for life was: "God is a bondage breaker, God does not want you to be under any law that is outside the law of love, and Christ came to set us free from anything that's not in his will or plan for you." Jackie graduated from Manual High School. She followed in her mother's footsteps and became a licensed cosmetologist. Her passions for people led her to Aspen Airlines, where she worked as a reservationist. Her love of reading and children led her to Catholic Charities where she became a certified Early Childhood Educator teaching children whose ages range from 3-5 years of age. Jackie married Kevin Dawkins, from that union, one daughter Bretagne Dawkins was born. She later had a common law marriage to Willard Furlough for seven years, and from that union Briayra Furlough was born. In her free time, "Jackie," "Jazz" she enjoyed spending time with friends. She had a humble heart, as wide as the ocean; she provided a helping hand to anyone in need. She will be remembered by her free spirit and hanging out with her girl posse, who would get her into trouble. They loved to laugh and joke around and play shenanigans on others. Verlena, and Gayle were her close friends and posse. She was a friend to all and a stranger to none. She had a heart of gold; she would give you the shoes off her feet if you needed them. She is preceded in death by her grandparents (Maternal and Paternal), and her Mother, Thelma. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heavens; a time to be born and a time to die. Eccl. 3:1 Jacquelyn Renée Turnbough-Dawkins earthly life's story ended with the sunset on October 17, 2015. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters , Briayra, and Bretagne, her grandson Jasai, her father Roosevelt "Turn," (Gladys) Turnbough, of Aurora, CO., her siblings, Tara Turnbough, of Georgia, Antonio Turnbough, of Snellville, GA., Stafford Anderson, of Denver, CO., Jahlanece Sidner, of Denver, CO., aunts, uncles, nieces, Nephews, and a host of cousins, (relatives) and friends.
