Jacqueline Williams

March 29, 1956 — April 11, 2014

Jacqueline K. Williams was born on March 29, 1956, in Aurora, Colorado to Roger J. Williams, Sr. and Helena Brown Williams. She was the second oldest of six children to bless this union. "Jackie" as she was affectionately called grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings, Roxalyn B., Roger J. Jr., Jason V., Wandalyn G., Wenston C. and Rosemary. As a child, Jackie was quiet but don't let her quietness fool you. She was sweet, sensitive, and a loving child. Jackie was a curious person and loved to try and do new things. She always said, "she would try it once and if she didn't like it that was it." She and her siblings shared many happy and precious moments together. Jackie received her formal education by attending the Denver Public Schools. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1974. While in school, Jackie was extremely active in school activities. She received many honors and awards and she was a young lady who excelled academically. She always strived to gain more knowledge. By profession, Jackie was employed by the City and County of Denver as a 911 Dispatcher. She was promoted to Police Dispatcher and was employed more than 27 years. She loved her job and was respected by her co-workers and supervisors. She was hardworking, dedicated and dependable. She performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. Jackie gained many, many friends from work, in which the friendship went beyond work. The word "Angel" comes from the Greek word aggelos, which means "messenger." Angels are God's messengers. Angels praise, worship and serve God. In every sense of the word, Jackie lived her life as a Christian woman and was the epitome of an Angel. She accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a very early age and after that there was no stopping her. She was the first member of Light of Life Miracle Deliverance Church of God In Christ; serving under the Pastoral leadership of Superintendent Roy W. Sudds. She served the Lord and her church untiringly. Some of the ministries included: Church Secretary, Adjutant to the First Lady, local and district Minister of Music, Prayer Team Leader, Coordinator of the J.O.C. Church Literature, and the J.O.C. Women's Department Recoding Secretary for Supervisor Bertha A. Washington. Jackie loved her church family and loved God with a passion. Jackie loved life and was always on the go whether it was personal or for the church. She was a strong woman who fought the good fight of faith and her faith NEVER wavered even during her illness. Jackie was a devoted "Big" sister; she loved to travel and had many traveling companions. She is preceded in death by her father, Roger J. Williams, Sr. Jacqueline K. Williams departed this life to the Lord's embrace on Friday, April 11, 2014. Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Mother Helena M. Williams; brothers, Roger J. (Narda) Williams, Jr., Jason V. (Valencia) Williams, and Wenston C. Williams; sisters, Roxalyn B. Williams, Wandalyn (Williams) Grier, Rosemary Palmer, Paula Williams, and Julie Frances; nephews, Jelani Walker, Aaron Grier, Aevin Grier, Emmanuel Williams, Eric Williams, Aaron Williams, Nicholas Williams, Lil Wenston Williams, Roger Williams III, and Roan Palmer; nieces, Jamila Walker, Elaina Williams, Rachel Williams, Alexandria Grier, Arielle Grier, Naomi Williams.
