Isaac LeRoy Lee was born to Isaac Joseph Lee and Barbara Jean Ware-Lee on March 14, 1947, Denver, Colorado, at Mercy Hospital. He was the second of two children born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his sister, Louise. His love of the Lord came to him early in life, he attended St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church and School where he was an Altar Boy and sang in the children's choir. He discovered love for athletics during that time playing peewee football. After completing elementary school at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School, he began attending the Denver Public Schools. Cole Middle School is where he found a love for basketball and progressed quickly. He won trophies and awards and his team won the City Championship as a 9th grader. His education continued on to Manual High School where he was a very good student. He played varsity football and basketball all 3 years and he also ran track. He sang in the Concert Choir, was a member of the Thespians, the "M" Club, had a large role in all the school show, and as a senior had the leading role in the senior play. Also as a senior the Thunderbolts basketball team went undefeated and won the Colorado State Championship and was ranked 7th in the nation. They are still remembered as one of the best teams to ever come out of the State of Colorado. After graduating from High School, Isaac LeRoy Lee attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. He attended college for a year, then he joined the United States Air Force, where he traveled the Far East and the United States extensively, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and held the position of an Administrative Clerk. Later in life, he attended the United Theological Seminary & Bible College in Monroe, Louisiana (the Denver Extension). On September 29, 2001, Isaac married Kathi Lorraine Dean. Kathi remembers their marriage as one full of love and happiness. They shared many happy and precious moments together. They were married for 13 wonderful years at the time of his passing. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Deacon Lee joined Peaceful Rest Baptist Church serving under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Lorenzo Stewart. It was there that he was baptized. He later became an Ordained Deacon. He was also a member of the Homeless Committee, Men Ministry and the Director of the church Transportation Committee. Still having desire to help, he assisted in the Church Cleaning, the Prayer Committee and he sang in the Choir. He later transferred his membership to Living Hope Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Pastor Robin Holland. Once again having a desire to be a servant, he joined the Deacon Ministry, the Men's Ministry, the Welcome Committee, the Homeless Committee, a Choir Member, he taught the Growing in Christ Class and he was the Director of the Prayer Committee. He was a man who served the Lord in Spirit and in Truth and epitomize the words of a Baptist song entitled, "If I Can Help Somebody" as I travel along, then my living shall not be in vain. Deacon Lee was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his hat, his swagger, his dress and for having a personality that "oozed" confidence. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Isaac was to love him. He is preceded in death by a son, Charles Lee, his parents and his sister.
