In Loving Memory
Inez Candra Carroll
March 28, 1938 - August 16, 2019

On March 28, 1938, Inez Candra was delivered into the loving arms of her parents Ralph Davey and Alberta Davis, in Louisville, Kentucky. Inez was the eldest of eight children born into this family.

Life was difficult in the South for her family and Inez and her mother moved to Junction City, Kansas. She attended elementary and high school in Junction City, but Inez had to quit school to help her mother care for her siblings.

At age 18 Inez, met Charles Milton Harvey, from Indiana. He was in the military and they married after a short courtship. To this union two children were born, Glenn Ray and Donna Lynn Harvey. Inez and Charles were very young when they married and unfortunately the marriage ended in divorce. She moved back home to Junction City, to be close to the support of family.

As the oldest of eight, Inez developed a gift for cooking and caring for people. Upon returning to Junction City, she began her career and a cook for the Junction City Public School System. Her wonderful food allowed her to have a successful catering business. Inez was committed to her children and providing for them, but deep in her heart she know that there was more that she longed to experience. She loved to travel an she moved to several states to see what she was missing.

Inez was raised in Second Baptist Church in Junction City, Kansas. Her curiosity about the world, her place in it, and where she came from started when she was young. In 1986, five of her brothers came to Junction City, packed up their Mother, sister Glenda and Inez and moved them to Denver, Colorado. Shortly afterwards, others members of the family began to join them in Denver. Family was Inez's priority and she was the steadfast loving center of the family. Her care, concern and encouragement was felt be all.

The calling to know more about her heritage was an unquenchable. She met a group of people interested in ancestry and genealogy and her research began in earnest. She spent countless hours reading, recording her linage and sharing what she had found. In 2015, she and her oldest child traveled to Kentucky to learn more of her ancestors journey from a small village in Kenya to the states. Inez was blessed to travel to Ghana and Kenya to witness first-hand the path of her ancestors.. That trip was one of the highlights of her 81 years of life.

Inez departed this life on August 16, 2019. She is proceeded in death by her parents Ralph and Alberts Davey, her siblings?, husband? Left to cherish her memory are her children Glen (Greta) Harvey, Donna (Fred) Moore, Theo and Robert Carpenter, ? grand children, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

After a lifetime of love, and joy and music to fill our ears
God leaves these precious memories to help us through our tears.
