Ignacio Alomia Jr. was the second child born to Ignacio Alomia Sr, and Gregoria Portocarrero Alomia on June 11, 1962 in Bronx, New York. Ignacio graduated from Aviation High School in New York City, New York. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and his Master's degree in Business Administration Information Security Management, Cum Laude from Jones International University. Ignacio served his country for 10 years and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force in 1991. He was awarded many accolades for his meritorious service. Ignacio's medals included: AF Training Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, and Southwest Asia Service Medal. He served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm and played an integral part in air bases worldwide. Ignacio married Nikita L. Harris, May 19, 1990, at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, NC. He was concerned with his spiritual well-being and congregated at East Alameda Church of Christ with his family. He worked as a Technical Support Engineer for Level 3 Communications in Broomfield, CO. His employers and co-workers attest to Ignacio's display of determination, eagerness to help others, intense work ethic, and knack for problem-solving. Ignacio truly lived life to the fullest and was self-driven. He was an avid cyclist, a passionate music enthusiast, and immensely free-hearted. Often referred as "confident" and "motivator," he also had a wonderful sense of humor and was extremely tech savvy. Ignacio's ingenuity and attention to detail gave him a set of unique skills that allowed him to build computers for himself and others. Refurbishing computers, converting VHS tapes to DVD discs, and professionally arranging music for different venues, family, and friends are also numbered as some of his passions; illustrating his free-hearted nature. IGNACIO WE WILL ALWAYS CARRY YOU IN OUR HEARTS At the age of 51, Ignacio Alomia, Jr., a child of God, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in Aurora, Colorado. He is survived by his loving wife, Nikita Alomia; his children, Antoinne Alomia, Alisha Alomia; his parents, Gregoria and Ignacio Sr.; his siblings, Benito Alomia, Jose Luis Alomia, Carmen Alomia-Hood, and Dorothy Alomia; his uncle Antonio Peralta; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
