Hosea Moore, Jr.

Hosea Leon Moore Jr. was born on September 21, 1942 in Corsicana, TX to his parents Hosea Leon Moore Sr. and Essie Lee Moore. Hosea was the eldest child and only son born in this family. Hosea was raised and surrounded by his three sisters. He was funny with a good sense of humor and told a lot of stories. He was a hero to his family. As a young child, Hosea attended Booker T. Washington Elementary in Texas. Hosea moved to Denver, Colorado and attended Gilpin elementary, Cole Jr. High and West High School in Denver. At the age of 17, Hosea joined The U.S. Army National Guard. Hosea then joined The United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1960-1968. Hosea continued his education in the Army and was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, TX; Ft. Wainwright, Alaska and Ft. Bragg, N.C. Hosea ended his enlistment as a Medical Specialist/Medic. Hosea met Winifred Winfrey in Denver in 1979, where they began a journey of building a loving life and home together. Hosea and Winfred united in matrimony on November 18, 1994 after they realized the two were inseparable. Hosea profession started as a young child, where he was a Caddy at a Golf Club House. After he ended his enlistment with The U.S. Army, Hosea started his career as a Welder. Hosea then received a journeyman license as a Boilermaker in the Steel Industry. Hosea worked as a contractor throughout the United States in Power Plants, Coal Burners and Oil Refineries. Hosea was a member of Boilermakers Union, Local 101. He was also a member of Heritage Christian Center, until he sustained an on the job injury. During Hosea active life, he loved outdoor adventures such as traveling, camping, fishing working on the house and gardening. Hosea watched Pro Wrestling and all sorts of professional sports. Hosea enjoyed watching western movies daily, 24-7. Hosea's ultimate passion was taking care of children a "Passel" of children as he would put it. This resulted in him helping to raise his grandchildren and fostering children without families. Although he was a Father already he became a Dad to many. "A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed, and has faith in you even when you fail." Hosea L. Moore departed this life on July 22, 2016, in Aurora CO. Those left to cherish his memory and morn his loss of their husband and Father. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Winifred Winfrey-Moore of Aurora CO; his children, Darrell Ragland, Sr. Denver CO; Christopher L. (Suzette Perry-Rogers) Rogers Sr. Aurora, CO; Hosea Rasheed Moore, Colorado Springs CO; his sisters, Asile Starr, Ft Worth, TX; Levvie (Willie) Hammon, Ft, Worth, TX; Lestie (Fred) Graham, Denver CO; grandchildren; Keyth Ragland Sr., Adrian Miller, Carissa L. Rogers, Christopher L Rogers II, Chrisinda L. Rogers, Chrisondra L. Rogers, Brooke Rogers, Dolan Humphrey, Aunnie Humphrey, Devin Humphrey; great grandchildren; Ah'Niyah Ragland, Xavier Ragland, Keyth Ragland Jr., Phoenix Miller and Tobias J. Rogers, Greyson Humphrey; and a host of extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.
