Helen Anderson

June 6, 1957 — February 19, 2017

Helen Loraine Anderson affectionately called "Peanut" by family and friends, was born on June 27, 1957, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Joe and Faviola Mosley. She was the youngest of thirteen children born in the family. She received her early education in Denver, where she graduated from Manual High School. She furthered her education by completing course in Culinary Arts. She enjoyed being in the kitchen and allowing others to share in her cooking this included the neighborhood and the community. Helen relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. It was there she met Eddie Carey, III, to this union a handsome son, they named Eddie, IV, was born. She was a loving and devoted mother whose pride and joy was the care and nurture of her son. She wanted nothing but the best for him; the best education, she wanted to make sure that he stayed on the right track and she was quick to say to anyone "that's my son." They shared many happy and precious moments together. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Helen was a faithful and dedicated member of Berun Seventh Day of Adventist Church located in Atlanta, Georgia. She served her church and the Lord as a volunteer to help the less fortunate; she enjoyed sharing in worship service at the nursing home; and feeding the homeless. She served her church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Fredrick Russell. She was a child of the Most High and believed everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Helen was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with those in her neighborhood, where they often called her "grandmother." She continued to love to cook, dance, play card games and dominoes. She loved listening to gospel music and jazz music, conversing with family and friends over the phone. She loved her visits home so that she spend time with her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman who had a smile that would warm the heart and a care for others that will be forever remembered. To know Helen was to love her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Carey, III; her father, Joe Moe; her aunt, Priscilla; and her, nephew, Keylin. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her son, Eddie Carey, IV; her mother, Faviola Mosley of Denver; 5 sisters, Dorothy, Bertha, Linda, Faviola, Melody; 7 brothers, Joe, Jr., Marvin, Wayne, Karl, Jesus, Larry, Leroy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
