Heather Wheaton

Heather Karay Chapman Wheaton was born on March 2, 1977, in Aurora, Colorado to her parents, Cynthia Gayle Chapman and Stephen Kurt Walker. She was the first of two children born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her sister, Delashae and her God brother, LaWhaun. As a child, she loved eating slap stick candy, playing dress up and doing all the things children enjoyed. They do remember her as being afraid of the dark. Heather received her formal education in Denver where she attended Hallett Elementary, Hamilton Junior High School and Hinkley High School. She later earned her GED. Heather furthered her education by attending Metropolitan College of Denver, where she earned an Associates of Arts Degree. She had one semester to complete the requirements to earn a Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Heather was the proud mother of two handsome sons, Tyron and Tyler. On February 29, 2012, Heather united in holy matrimony to, Jerome T. Wheaton. They first met while attending a social gathering attended by family and friends. To this union, a beautiful baby girl, they named Jasiya was born. The family shared many happy and precious moments together. By profession, Heather was employed by Sprint Telecommunications as a Customer Service Representative. Her co-workers and employers remember her hard work and dedication. She was a person who performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. She had been with the company for a number of years. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Heather accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church by Reverend Frank M. Davis. She truly believed in the power of prayer and that everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Heather was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed watching all sports and spending quality time with family and friends. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of a kind woman. To know Heather was to love her. Heather Karay Chapman departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on June 9, 2013, in Larkspur, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her husband, Jerome T. Wheaton; 2 sons, Tyron R. Johns and Tyler R. Johns; her daughter, Jasiya T. Wheaton; her mother, Cynthia G. Chapman; her sister, Delashae A. Chapman; her grandmother, Carrie L. Chapman all of Denver, Colorado; 3 uncles, Gulliver (Faye) Chapman, Newton, MS, Anthony (Judy) Chapman, and Michael (Gina) Jackman, Denver; 4 aunts, Carolyn Chapman, Atlanta, GA, Sharon (Antonio) Koumalan, Aurora, CO, Robyn (Bill) Langer, Arvada, CO, and Yolanda (Phil) Bowman Phillips, Greeley, CO; her God brother, LaWaun McBride, Denver and a host of cousins other relatives and many friends.
