Grace Lee Tate was born on June 27, 1946, in Columbia, Mississippi to her parents, John E. Brown, Sr. and Catherine Peters Brown. She was the fourth of eight children born in the family. She had five brothers and two sisters. Grace received her formal education in Columbia, MS, where she graduated from Marion Central High School. She furthered her education by attending and completing Regency Beauty Institute in Chicago Illinois. On April 10, 1965, Grace united in holy matrimony to Victor Lee Tate in Chicago Illinois. They first met in Chicago Illinois. To this union, two sons, Ronald and Vincent were born. She was later blessed with Six grandchildren Cajetan Vincent Tate. Diondra Nicole Tate, Te'Yonna Alexis Tate, Jairus Tyler Tate, Donovan Ross Tate, and Jalen Malik Ragsdale and one great grandchild, Naomi Tate who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her Grandma and fondly remember all the happy and precious moments they all shared together. Grace was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed watching football, providing life fulfilling Guidance and spending quality time with family and friends. Grace Lee Tate departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on June 20, 2015, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her loving husband, Victor L. Tate of Highlands Ranch, CO; 2 sons, Ronald S. (Carmen) Tate of Chicago, IL and Vincent T. (Jill) Tate of Highland Ranch, CO; 4 brothers, Jimmy L. Brown, Ezell Brown both of Chicago, IL, John E. (Laura) Brown, Edward R. (Rose) Brown; 1 sister, Juanita Brown all of Columbia, MS; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 aunts, Missionary Louvenia Craft of Denver, CO and Missionary Lillie Haynes of Kansas City, MO; her sister-in-law, Ellen Wilson of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
