Georgia Rene Bonner was born on November 27, 1940, in LaGrange, Texas to her parents, Albert Roy Carlton, Sr. and Lizzie Mae East Carlton. She was the third child born in the family. She has four brothers, Johnnie, Alfred, Albert, Roy and four sisters, Angeline, Gracie, Helen and Wanda Sue. All her siblings fondly remember her as being the "Best Sister." She received her early education by graduating from Dunbar High School in Texas. On Valentine's Day, February 14, 1959, Georgia united in holy matrimony to Woodie Lee Bonner in Temple, Texas. The couple first met when they both were in high school. To this union, Barbara, Sharon, Vickie, and Woodie were born. They all remember her being an excellent cook and she enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. Georgia was later blessed with seven grandchildren, Cory, Renika, Jonathan, Jasmine, Alica, and Brenden who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They too remember her as being an excellent cook. Any visit to her home was full of fellowship, laughter and love. They all shared many happy and precious moments together. By profession, Georgia was a professional Bartender. She has worked for M&M and the American Legion. She worked in this field for over thirty years. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Georgia accepted the Lord as her personal savior at a very early age. She joined the Eight Street Baptist Church in her native home. She truly believed in the power of prayer and that everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Georgia was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed conversing with family and friends as well as many of her co-workers. She was loving by nature and didn't mind lending a helping hand to others. She loved dancing. She was outgoing, kind and always had a wonderful spirit. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this Queen of a Woman. To know Georgia was to love her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lizzie Mae Carlton; two brothers, Melvin Carlton and Robert Carlton and a granddaughter, Diamond Bonner. Georgia Rene Bonner departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on October 28, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her passing include a son, Woodie L. Bonner of Denver; 3 daughters, Barbara A. Bonner (Anthony Huff), Sharon A. Bonner and Vickie R. Bonner all of Denver; 3 brothers, Alfred Carlton, Roy (Robbie) Carlton, Albert Carlton, Jr., all of Temple, TX; 4 sisters, Angeline Rogers, Gracie Harris, Helen Patty and Wanda Sue Smith all of Temple, TX; 1 step brother, Johnny Johnson of LaGrange, TX; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; close family friends, Michael and Anthony Romero both of Denver and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and many friends.
