George Mcclain, Jr.

August 24, 1991 — September 22, 2016

George Bailey McClain, "Lil George" aka "Lil GB", was conceived in love and born into the happy "Until Death Do Us Part" union of his parents, George Bailey McClain and Sherri D. McClain, on August 24, 1991. He was loved tremendously by them both. From this union came Eemoni McClain, George's younger sister. Three months' shy of his 4th birthday, Lil George suffered a devastating loss. He lost his father, the head of his home –he lost his provider and protector. His dad loved him, his mom and sister, Eemoni more than anyone or anything in this world and wanted the best for his baby boy and family. Lil George was his father's first born and only son. He was a lot like his dad in looks as well as demeanor and statue. Like his father, he was a bold, courageous, meticulous thinker and leader. George was the oldest of 7 children. George loved and looked after his sisters and brothers when they were all together. He was a very loving and caring person. George initially attended Montbello High School but later attained his General Education Diploma receiving exceptionally high test scores in every academic subject – a clear indication he was prepared for college-level courses. He continued to further his education via on-line classes where he received special recognition for his hard-work, academic achievement and overall high-level of intelligence. George loved sports. His favorite football team was the Indianapolis Colts. (Not the Broncos!) His Favorite Quarter Back was Peyton Manning. George loved cars and was admirer of the color Red. His weaknesses were the indulgence of sweets and his daughter Isis whom he absolutely loved and adored. He loved being silly and goofy with Isis, watching her laugh and smile warmed his heart. He was quite instrumental in teaching little Isis and assisted in her growth and development as much as he could. George was a supportive partner to his wife in her personal and professional endeavors. He helped Ravan structure a youth-focused non-profit organization they named "Seven" which encompasses an after-school program, mentorship and life skills training. George strongly believed in family. In January 2008, George met Ravan Symone Drake. They quickly became best friends and later dated. On December 31, 2015, they were joined in holy matrimony and the two lives became as one. They were excited and looking forward to expanding their family, given their daughter Isis siblings to grow with. He was looking forward to traveling abroad with his family and exploring different countries and cultures. George was adventurous. He loved all genres of music- not just hip hop and R&B. Some of his music choices would surprise most. He enjoyed drawing and loved writing and reciting poetry as well as rap. He made a music CD and created several inspiring drawings. He was amazingly gifted and talented on many levels. His profound artistic skills and abilities were of the magnitude of a seasoned professional. George was keenly aware of his ability to amass great success and wealth utilizing his God-given intellect and talents. This strong belief lead George to write a book about his life story. He and Ravan were recently searching for publishers. Ravan plans to continue that search and have his life story published for all to read and learn from. George spent the past three years studying the Islamic faith. He incorporated an Islamic diet and life style into his daily regime. He remained consistent in prayer and meditation- cognizant of the mind, body and soul. He was an avid reader of literature and material of a broad spectrum. George was a comedian at times and loved to make people laugh. George aka "Lil GB" aka "Chewy," was dearly loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family is only stronger when the seeds they plant are watered. Continue to always love one another in spite of anything that has happened in the past. Love each other unconditionally, not just today but always. You don't know what tomorrow might bring. Keep in contact with each other and don't forget about the people who loved you rather it is family or friends. As they are here today and gone tomorrow. (George Bailey McClain) George was preceded in death by his father, George Bailey McClain; grandfather, Fredrick L. Abram, Sr., Columbus Mitchell; grandmother, Madelyn Carey; cousin, Nolan Ware-Abram. George Bailey McClain departed this life to embrace the Lord on Thursday morning, September 22, 2016.
