George was born on April 9th 1943 in Bivins Texas to George Mask Sr. and Pearl L McIntosh. He attended Central Elementary School in Texas. George was an accomplished Boy Scout and attended I.M. Terrill High School George joined the United States Navy as a Merchant Seaman in 1963 with a tenure of 4 years. Upon completion, he served in the US Naval Reserve for 2 years. George moved to Portland Oregon where he met his wife Claudette Shannon a mechanical engineer, and married in 1983. They moved to Denver with their daughter in 1983. George worked as a Certified Builder for Advanced Components Inc. in Lafayette Colorado. He was a witty and dedicated individual who loved his family and adored his daughter and three grandchildren. He was passionate about helping others especially children. He coached junior baseball and football in Portland Oregon, and was an avid reader, particularly western novels. His daughter remembers him as a kind, gentle and generous father who encouraged her to pursue her education and achieve her goals in life. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Willie Mask and sister Dorice Jackson. George Mask left this world peacefully in his home on Monday January 9th 2017 in Denver Colorado at the age of 73. George is survived by his daughter Nicole Cranford, his three Grandchildren, Roya Cranford, Alexander Cranford, and Nicolas Cranford. George also leaves to mourn his loss his brothers Harold Oliver of Portland, Oregon, Alphonso Mask of Marietta, Texas; sisters Jimmie Lee Willis of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
