George Thomas Cloyd, III was born on March 23, 1958, in Denver, Colorado to his parents, Peggy Ann Marshbank and George Thomas Cloyd, II. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Norman, David, and his sisters, Connie, Alane, and Pamela. As a child, he enjoyed cooking, playing basketball; he is also remembered as playing jokes on family and friends. He would always have a smile on his face which made it hard to tell if he was serious or joking. George received his formal education in Denver, where he graduated from Manual High School in 1978.
While in high school, George met Sheila Joseph. He was the proud father of two sons, George T. IV, and Lee. He later met Barbara Thomas. They all shared many happy and memorable moments together. Barbara preceded him in death in 2018. He was later blessed with seven grandchildren, who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life.
By profession, George was a Professional Chef. He was employed by Bonnie Brae Tavern for over twenty years. He enjoyed cooking and truly believed that the presentation of a dish was just as important as the preparation.
George was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed spending quality time with his sons and other families. He enjoyed cooking, dancing, playing bones, watching football and basketball. His closest friends, Hot Rod, Bugs, Moe (who was his cousin) shared a very special closeness that spans for many years. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know George was to love him.
George T. Cloyd, III departed this life on November 26, 2018, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include 2 sons, George T. Joseph, IV, and Lee E. (Stephanie) Joseph all of Aurora, Colorado; his mother, Peggy A. Marshbank of Denver, Colorado; 1 brother, David Cloyd of Denver; 2 sisters, Alane G. Lomack of Los Angeles, California and Pamela J. Davis of Aurora, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
