Geneva Wilson

December 4, 1933 — February 18, 2013

Mrs. Geneva Wilson was born on December 4, 1933 in Gainesville, Florida to Dora and Henry Charles Tims. She was the second youngest of five children. On February 5, 1954, she was married to Lawrence V. Wilson who preceded her in death in 1985. The couple had constant love for each other; she was blessed with five children, two in which preceded her in death: Willis Ivory Starling and Lorenzo Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memories, children: Lawrence V. Wilson, Oliver Wilson (Alisa Wilson), and Goldie L. Jefferson. She was a devoted, loving mother. Later came her grand-children: Glendia Harper, Keeynan Hogan, Gregory Cole, Natasha Cole, Dominique Jefferson, Latanya Rose, Daeleza Hall, Tashikka Wilson, Alexis Wilson, and Aspen Wilson. Along with a host of great grand- children that were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. We called her "Nanny"; we shared many precious memories together. Geneva's closest friends were: Delores Parker (Ms. Lois), Mary Conway, Margaret Jenkins, Clara Bracken, Fannie Brown, Elenor Gallegos and Veronica Hudson. Geneva moved to Denver, Colorado from Florida. She was employed at Russell Stovers, and then on to Children's Hospital where she retired. She enjoyed sharing quality time with family and friends. She would give anything she had, even if it was the shirt off her back. Her favorite color was royal blue and hot pink; also she loved dancing and listening to the blues. She attended East Denver Bible Baptist Church. Nanny had a smile that would light up the room and a kind and open heart. Her love, kindness, joy in life and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. On February 18, 2013, the Lord called Mrs. Geneva Wilson home to glory.
