Gailen Jahmil Armstrong was born on January 9, 1996, in Denver, Colorado to his loving parents, Eugene Armstrong and Angela Lee. The third oldest of his siblings, Gailen was raised and surrounded by his siblings, Kianua, Dashae, Milo, and Marquevious, as well as his cousins, Eva and Josh. His siblings remember him by being quiet and always thinking he could sing. Gailen's family lovingly nicknamed him, "Gator." As a child, Gator was well behaved and constantly observant of his surroundings. Like most youth his age, he was a lover of sports, especially football. Gator played football in Denver's PAL League, starting with the Park Hill Warriors, and later moving to the Park Hill Falcons. Then he went on to play for Ridgeview Academy. Educated in the Denver Public School system, Gailen graduated from Ridgeview Academy Charter School, earning his diploma. After graduation, Gator attended Northeastern Junior College for one year, furthering his education. With the passion to work, Gator began a general labor trade. In March of 2016, Gailen became a father to Je'Lani Jahmil Miller-Armstrong. As a loving young man, Gailen cherished his relationship with Karla Duron. Gailen's presence and his jokes to bring laughter will truly be missed. He is preceded in death by his little brother, Emarree Shug Harvey; his grandmother, Yvonne Lee; his great grandmother, Odessa Lee; and his favorite big cousin, Delrod Spearman. Gailen departed this life on July 30, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. He was loved by many, but God loved him best. Gailen leaves behind his son, Je'lani Jahmil Miller-Armstrong; his parents, Eugene Armstrong, and Angela Lee both of Denver; his sister, Kianua Lee of Denver; his brothers, Dashae Thompson, Milo Hall, Marquevious Lee, all of Denver; grandparents, Shirley Ann Armstrong, Eugene Armstrong, Sr., and a host of aunt, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
