On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Fred Hicks departed this life. Fred Hicks was born on September 3, 1934, to Levie Hicks and Liddie Nix in Maplesville, Alabama. He confessed Christ at an early age and before becoming seriously ill was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado.

Fred was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force he worked as a District Manager for Walgreens, A Housing Manager for Denver Public Housing Authority, and a teacher for Denver Public Schools, which retired from in 1998.

He was preceded by this life by his father (Levi Hicks), mother (Liddie Hicks), brother (Lannie Hicks), and stepdaughter (Genesis Metcalfe).

He leaves to cherish his memories Five children; Robert Hicks of North Carolina, Paul Hicks of California, Katherine Hicks of Colorado, DiEma Hicks of Texas, and grandson Jeremiah Metcalfe-Hicks of Colorado. Three-step sons, Charles Metcalfe of Alabama, Dexter Metcalfe Jr, of Colorado and Malando Metcalfe of Georgia, and Ex-wife Debra Hicks of Colorado. Three grandchildren and Nine step-grandchildren. Two sister’s Leather Hicks of Colorado and Laneka Hicks of Ohio. Three brother’s Ned Hicks of New Jersey, Kevin Hicks of Ohio, and Shaun Hicks of California. One Aunt, Beola Hicks of Tennessee, and a host of other relatives and friends.
