Fran (Grant) Potts was born on August 24, 1953 to the late Leon and Nadine Grant in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Fran was blessed with five siblings; Toni, Leon, Von, Lynn, and Erma (Kim).
Fran matriculated through the Oklahoma City Public School system graduating from Douglass High School in 1971. She attended Central State University in Edmond Oklahoma earning her Bachelor's degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education and Learning Disabilities in 1979.
After graduating college, Fran moved to Denver, Colorado with the love of her life Tony Potts. They were married in August of 1979. To this union Fran inherited her daughter, Stacie Wynnette. Soon after, Ryan Anthony and Justin Leon were born. Fran was a fun, loving, no BS, and supportive mother and took great pride in her children and grandchildren.
Fran had a passion for helping people. She began her career journey in 1979 working with Northeast Denver Youth Services. She then worked with the Equal Employment Opportunity Center where she was a grievance case worker. Fran started her career at the IRS in 1989 where she retired with 25 years of service as an IRS Specialist in January 2014.
Fran and Tony loved to travel and together traveled all over the United States. She loved gardening, hiking, fishing, interior design, shopping, brunch with her kids, and loving on her grandchildren.
Fran was preceded in death by her father, Leon Grant. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Fran passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 30, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 40 years, Tony Potts; her mother Nadine Grant of Dallas, TX; her loving children, Stacie Potts (Reggie) Alexander, Ryan Potts both of Denver, and Justin (Laura) Potts of Vancouver, WA; Brother, Leon Grant of Oklahoma City, OK; Sisters, Toni Grant and Vonn (Rodney) Pickett of Oklahoma City, OK, Lynn Cooperwood of Dallas, TX and Erma (Reginald) Halstead of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren, Kaelan, Michael, Ta'Lor, Tatum, Dublin, Jaceson, Alexis, Ellis, Layla, Morgan, Monroe, Zen, and Halo; Sister in Law, Jeannie Potts (Lonnie) Dixon of Denver, CO, Connie (Terry) Bryson, and Pat Kemp both of Oklahoma City, OK, and David (Peggy) Potts of Surprise, AZ; a host of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
