Fonda Dannielle Chavez was born on October 21,1962 in St. Louis, MO to her loving parents Edgar and Amanda Holloway who referred to Fonda as "Red". She was raised surrounded by her siblings Kenneth, Edgar III, Edward, Robert, Terre, Faith, Marjorie, Avis, Pamela, Stephanie, Tammara, and Dorian who had nothing but love for their sister throughout her life. As a young girl, Fonda was such a bubbly, happy kid! She was always giggling, even to the point where she got in trouble. She loved playing volleyball, softball, skating, riding bikes, and dancing, but one of her favorite memories from her childhood was when Pops pulled everyone around on a dolly. Aside from that, the biggest thing she was known for was being a fashionista, even at a young age. Fonda was always sharp as a tack; dressed to the nines. Even in the dance group with her sisters famously known as the "Peppermint Plus", she had the nickname "Fine Foxy Forever Fabulous Fonda"; and that speaks for itself.
Fonda grew up to be a confident young woman. In High School, she played on several sports teams and was the Editor of the Beaumont Newspaper. After graduating from Beaumont High School, she attended the American Institute of Banking, and then began working at Mercantile Bank in St. Louis, MO. She had a bright red Honda (to match her nickname from her parents), and continued to be the shining star everyone remembers. She shined the brightest as a wife and mother, and that transition began shortly after she met Christopher Chavez while visiting Denver, CO one Summer. It was Love at First Sight, as she made the big decision to leave her loving family in St. Louis, and begin a new life with her lifelong best friend in Denver. Fonda married Christopher Chavez at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church on Valentine's Day in 1987. This started a new chapter in her life as she started a family with Christopher soon after. Chris Jr. was the first child, Corin was the second, and Cree was the third. As a wife and mother, Fonda was SELFLESS, as she always put her family first. Her family was her career, as she made sure her husband and kids always had loving support; whether it be getting to school safe, being there for every field trip, or just needing a shoulder to cry on. As her kids got older, Fonda returned to work as a saleswoman in fashion, which emphasized how multi-faceted she was. She could sell snow to an Eskimo, but all that means is that her warm, happy spirit was welcoming to everyone. A cool story that few know is that one time the famous actress Mo'Nique visited a store Fonda worked at. Mo'Nique was so impressed with Fonda that she not only purchased a lot of items, but also gave VIP passes to Fonda to attend her show later that night! There aren't enough words to describe how beautiful, loving, and inspiring Fonda will always be. She was the epitome of a great person. As she now joins her loved ones in Heaven, she will continue to be loved and remembered by her family and others she touched along the way.
Fonda departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on December 8, 2022 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her husband, Christopher Chavez; her son Christopher Jr. and wife Jezabel; her daughter Cree; her sisters Terre, Faith, Pamela, Stephanie, Tammara, and Dorian and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
