OBITUARY On February 15, 1939, Florine A. Netherland, the youngest of 4 children, her siblings were Birdy-Bee Reese, Daniel Holms, Charles Flores (all preceded in death), and Rosalie Bowen, was born to Arrillian and Idella Netherland of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Florine attended Manual Training High School, where she graduated, in Muskogee. She was an honor recipient throughout high school, a majorette in the band, and in the school choir who participated in multiple charity fund raising activities. Florine was in the Cosmetic Beauty industry for some years. Florine attended North End Church of God in Christ, in Muskogee, under the leadership of Superintendent Fred D. Lawson and Pastor T.E. Thompson, and committed her life to God at a very young age. She was very serious about her walk with Christ. Florine was child prodigy as a accomplished pianist and singer, and served faithfully in her church for many years as a teenager. Florine was a sought-after, powerful National Evangelist who served in ministry for over 50 years. She had a Prophetic Ministry which was anointed. As a prayer warrior, she was assigned to minister to the lost, to cater to the disenfranchised, and to usher the dying into the arms of our Father God. Many souls came to Christ through Revivals she conducted all across the United States, and as a result some became preachers and missionaries. Evangelist Netherland was a beautiful inside and outside, a virtuous, faithful woman. She lived a modest life, but was immensely rich in spirit and courage, and valued her salvation and commitment to God, and did not take it lightly. She possessed the ability to forgive the "Unforgiveable!" Florine was straightforward; she did not bite her tongue, and would comment on the obvious! Very opinionated. Her smile, sense of humor and laughter was contagious. She was selfless and willingly sacrificed herself for others. She loved her family as a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a true friend and trusted confidant. Evangelist Netherland transitioned from this life on June 13, 2017. She was the baby of three girls, one of which preceded her in death, Birdy-Bee Reese, of Los Angeles, CA; and is survived by one sister, Rosalie Bowen of Oklahoma; her three children: Tony Metoyer (Angela) of Colorado, April Atchison of Colorado, and Thomas Milton Flores of Colorado; grandchildren: Chekeshia Metoyer, Candace Grider, Carlos Grider, Lynette Nickelson, Shannon Metoyer and Brandon Metoyer; great grandchildren: Yameen McKenzie, Krystal Grider, Jayah Nickelson, niece; Phyllis Robinson, nephew; Johnathan Reese, and a host of loving relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
