One's story of life begins at birth. All chapters following are an ongoing work in progress, revealing the highs and the lows in each one's novel; with each day revealing the history of the Hudson Family. With Florette's novel entitled "Ask Florette" The pages of this book began for Florette L. Hudson Parker on December 6, 1921 to the union of John and Nora Hudson in Coffeeville, Mississippi the oldest of eleven children. Florette married A. D. Parker and after his death she moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan. She resided in Benton Harbor until, 1984. Florette worked at Michigan Fruit Cannery as a lab technician in quality control. Upon retirement in 1984, she moved to Aurora, Colorado where she worked in food service for Cherry Creek School District, Englewood, Colorado. Florette received Christ at an early age. She was a member of Union Memorial A. M. E. Church, Benton Harbor, MI. Once she relocated to Aurora, she joined Campbell Chapel A. M. E. Church, Denver, CO. She was a member of Zeta Zeta Zeta Chapter, Denver Zeta Amicae of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Florette loved God and her children dearly. Her children were her life. After a lengthy illness, She leaves eight children to cherish her memories, Jimmie (William) Tyler and Dr. Shirley (Andrew) Stansberry of Benton Harbor, MI; Mae Davis, Janice (Edward) Jenkins, and Thomas (Maria) Parker of Aurora, CO; Donna (Vincent) Turrietta of Albuquerque, NM. Quentin (Sherry) Parker of Littleton, CO , and Michael (Phyllis) Parker of Greenwood Village, CO. Florette has four generations of children: 11 children (3 deceased), 34 grandchildren, 60 great grand children, and 27 great great grandchildren giving a total of 132 children. Florette has three brothers, Willie (Lillie Mae) Hudson, Edward (Rosie Lee) Hudson of Benton Harbor, MI, and Calvin (Gloria) Hudson of Chicago, IL; and two Sisters, Vera Herrion and Joyce Butler of Benton Harbor, MI and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Hudson. She has a host of nieces, and nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly and always will be remembered for her creative culinary specialties (cooking!!!) and talking about the Hudson's, Phillip's, and Parker's family histories. She is preceded in death by her husband, A. D. Parker, three Children, Ura Jean Smith, George Parker, Rita Lipscomb; one son-in-law Sam Smith Jr.; Parents Nora and John Hudson, two sister, Mary Evelyn and Erma Jean; three brothers, John Lewis Hudson, Charles Hudson, and Kenneth Hudson. To end this story as you close your eyes you can hear Florette talking about the family history, and talking about different recipes that she has dreamed up.
