Florette Pamela McClellan was born to Kathleen Prince and Floyd Wardell Waller on August 10, 1950 in Colorado. She was one of 3 children born to this union and was raised with her siblings, Floyd Prince and Barbara McNeal. As a child, many recall that Florette enjoyed taking care of her baby sister, she embraced learning as much as she possibly could and even learned how to cook from her aunt, Odessa.
Florette was raised in Kansas where she was educated through Wichita Public Schools. She attended and graduated from East High School and was a star student. She later met and married a young man named Theodore McClellan Jr. on January 6, 1969 at the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Tulsa, OK. The couple were blessed with their only daughter, Machelle McClellan Davis.

Those who know Florette best describe her as caring and loving. She helped guide people and was a protector of those she loved. She had a great sense of humor and had a heart of gold. She was generous and beautiful inside and out. By profession, she was a Youth Guidance Specialist. Florette took on many kids as her own, showing them love and giving them direction, resulting in better opportunities in life.
During her free time, she enjoyed making home cooked meals, spending time with her best friends, Barbara, Rocky, Erma, Shirley, Brenda and Rose; and most of all, spending quality time with her family. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Granny”. To others she was known as “Cakes”. She will truly be missed by all those who were blessed to have known her.
