Fletcher Evans-Hunt

February 23, 1955 — July 22, 2013

Fletcher Sue Hunt was born on December 23, 1955, in Dermott, Arkansas to her parents, Edward Evans, Sr. and Thelma Tatum Phason. She was the fourth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Larry, Edward, Clarence and her sisters, Rochelle, Sharon, Beverly and Deborah. Growing up Sue was very athletic and a bit of a tom boy. She loved playing football, basketball, and track and field. She was the type of lady who stood her ground and didn't have a problem fighting the boys or bullying her siblings. Sue received her formal education in Denver, Colorado where she graduated from Lincoln High School. On April 19, 1980, Sue united in holy matrimony to Jimmie L. Hunt. They first met when they both were at Mitchell Elementary School. The marriage was full of love and happiness. They loved to entertain family and friends. To this union, a beautiful baby girl they named Sharell. Later grandchildren, Eva, Jameelah, Armamasa and Osiray were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "Granny" and fondly remember her giving them pop-sicles and making mud pies with them. By profession, Sue was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She worked several of the nursing homes and hospitals in the metro area but her greatest joy was found working private duty, where she worked one on one with patients in her care and charge. She was respected and revered for her hard work and dedication. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Sue accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Church. Later she transferred her membership to New Covenant Christian Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Reginald Holmes. She served her church and the Lord as a member of the Usher Board and a member of the Choir. She truly enjoyed her walk with the Lord and the fellowship shared with her church family. Sue was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed outdoor barbecue's, spending quality time with her daughter and grandchildren, as well as hang out with her siblings. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful lady. To know Sue was to love her.
