Ezekiel Harmon, Jr. was born on December 24, 1925, in DeKalb, Bowie County, TX, to his parents, Ezekiel Harmon, Sr. and Bettie Lee Harmon. He was the youngest of five children born in the family. He had two brothers, Maceo and C. L. (deceased) and two sisters, Lamonia Harmon Richardson and Elsie (deceased). Ezekiel attended the Garland Community School in DeKalb, TX. Growing up, Ezekiel lived a relatively carefree life for the times. As the youngest child, he was able to tag along with his older brothers who taught him to hunt, fish and farm. To his family, he was known as "Boy" because he was the youngest, but his friends called him "Wild Pig" because of his athletic prowess. He often reflected on traveling around the countryside with his father, who was a Methodist Minister. He valued his relationships with God, his family and friends. Ezekiel was married to Sarah Harmon in Oklahoma City, OK in 1960. Four children were born to this union, Deborah Harmon-Oten (deceased), Glen, Sherry and Robin. Hard work and thrift were a way of life for Ezekiel Harmon. He ran his family truck farm in DeKalb, TX before moving to Oklahoma City in the 1950's. There, he found work in various cafes and grocery stores. In search of a better life for himself and his new family, Ezekiel moved to Denver, CO in the early 1960's. He was employed by the Denver Country Club until the 1970's when he started a landscaping service which he operated until the 1980's when he finally retired. Ezekiel enjoyed car trips, in his lifetime, he drove all around the lower 48 states. He was known for his gardens and vegetables. He enjoyed listening to music some of his favorite artists were Barry White, Stevie Wonder and perhaps his favorite Louis Jordan. He was extremely proud of his children who he encouraged to study hard and get their books. He is survived by wife Sara Harmon, son Glen Harmon (wife Pamela), daughters Sherry Harmon Johnson (husband Daley) and Robin Harmon-Tatum (husband Kevin) step sons Jesse Golston and Willis Golston, niece, Ruby Harmon Mack, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
