Mother Ernestine Louise Moore was born on September 25, 1926, in Arkansas City, Kansas to her parents, Ernest James Bradford and Maude Esther Perry Bradford. She was raised surrounded by her brother, Rowland and her sisters, Wanda and Jeanette. As a child, she often dreamed of having pretty clothes and nice things because growing up, she most often wore 'hand me downs' from her sister. She received her early education by attending the Arkansas City Jr. High School. In 1942, Ernestine United in Holy Matrimony to Harold Morris, Sr. in Newkirk, Oklahoma. They first met when they both lived in Kansas. To this union, two beautiful children, Harold, Jr. "Dutch" and Pamela were born. Ernestine is remembered as a …"no non-sense" person. She was frank and to the point… whether you liked what she said or not. She was extremely meticulous; in her eye sight, everything has a place and everything should be in its place. She dreamed of having nice things when growing up and was blessed to have them as an adult. In 1960, Ernestine wed, Carl Moore in a civil ceremony at the City/County building in Denver. This marriage was later dissolved. Ernestine was later blessed with her grandchildren, Vernon, Ernest, Vincent, Shelly, Charlene, CaSandra and Jaqueline, who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "grandma or beautiful." They remember her as being "Sassy/Jazzy, sharp, clean and she loved ice-cream. She was a beautiful and sophisticated woman, who carried herself with class and dignity. She also loved to cook and every dish prepared was a true culinary delight. They also remember her shopping and playing bingo. By profession, Ernestine worked for University Hospital in Environmental Services and she also worked in private homes. Wherever employed, she was hardworking and dependable. In Matthew 5:16, we find this recorded word; "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Mother Ernestine Moore accepted the Lord as her personal savior at a very early age. She truly believed in the power of prayer and that everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. She became a member of House of Hope Christian Ministries under the Pastoral leadership of Pastor Richard and Evangelist Pam Lewis. She loved being part of a growing ministry and sharing the good news of God's blessing alongside both her son, Dutch and daughter, Pamela, as well as other family members and friends. She was one of the "Mothers of the Church" and honored to have that recognition bestowed upon her. She was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. Before her health began to decline, she played bingo regularly. Her closest friends, JuRutha Motley, Alberta Mitchell, Pat Shaw, Ellen Stone and Donna Barlow, will miss the comraderies they all shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman of God. To know Mother Moore was to love her. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and a grandson, Vernon. Mother Ernestine Louise Moore departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on September 15, 2014 in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her son, Harold "Dutch" (Barbara Ann) Morris, her daughter, Pamela A. Vaughn all of Aurora; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
